Islamic finance, explained for everyone
We’re on a mission to make Islamic finance accessible, understandable, and actionable for every Muslim in the UK — whatever your background, income, or level of knowledge.
Why we built this
The UK Islamic finance market is growing fast. There are now more Shariah-compliant products available than ever before — halal car finance, Islamic mortgages, ethical investment funds, and more. The options are there. But for most Muslims, they remain frustratingly out of reach.
Not because the products are hard to access. But because nobody has explained them clearly.
The information that does exist is either buried in dense financial jargon, scattered across forum threads, or written by lenders with an obvious interest in selling you something. There’s very little that’s honest, clear, and genuinely written for the everyday Muslim trying to make better financial decisions.
That’s the gap Deen Finance exists to fill.
“We believe every Muslim deserves to understand their financial options — not just the ones who already know where to look.”
What we do
Think of us as your knowledgeable friend who happens to understand Islamic finance. Someone who gives you real information based on your situation rather than overly cautious advice driven by liability concerns.
We publish plain English guides on every aspect of Islamic finance — from the basics of what riba means and why it matters, to detailed breakdowns of how halal car finance actually works, what a Home Purchase Plan really costs compared to a conventional mortgage, and which investment platforms are genuinely Shariah-compliant.
We don’t dumb things down. We just remove the unnecessary complexity that makes finance feel intimidating, and replace it with clarity.
Our principles
Plain English always
No jargon without explanation. If we use a term like murabaha or ijara, we explain exactly what it means and why it matters to you.
Honest and balanced
We tell you the downsides as well as the upsides. Islamic finance products aren’t always cheaper — and we’ll tell you when they’re not.
Open to everyone
You don’t need to be Muslim to find value here. Ethical, interest-free finance is relevant to anyone who wants their money to align with their values.
Independent
We’re not owned by a lender or paid to favour any product. When we recommend something, it’s because we genuinely think it’s the best option for our readers.
Who we are
Deen Finance is a trading name of Lismore Consultancy Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales. We’re a small, independent team passionate about improving financial literacy in the Muslim community.
We’re not scholars. We’re not lenders. We’re people who got tired of how hard it was to find clear, honest information about Islamic finance — and decided to build the resource we wished had existed when we needed it.
A growing market, an underserved community
There are nearly 4 million Muslims in the UK. The UK Islamic finance market is now worth over £11 billion and growing at over 30% year on year. More lenders are entering the market. More products are becoming available. More Muslims are actively seeking Shariah-compliant alternatives.
The community is ready. The market is growing. What’s been missing is clear, accessible education to help people navigate it all with confidence.
That’s what Deen Finance is here to provide.
Important: Nothing on Deen Finance constitutes financial advice. We provide information and education only. Always seek independent financial advice before making any financial decision. Deen Finance is a trading name of Lismore Consultancy Ltd, registered in England and Wales.
